All this bollocks about most immigrants coming over, and just being a drain on our benefits system is rubbish. Our governments aren't stupid, they let these immigrants in because they are cheap labour, they enrich the economy.
Papers like the Daily Mail peddle their scaremoungering shit so that the average Joe laps it up. This then means that said average Joe takes out his frustrations on the immigrants, rather than the arseholes at the very top (the 1%) and the like, who are making billions. Of course our services are stretched, this is true. But come on now, lets be honest, there is enough money made at the very top that could trickle its way down, and be spent on improving public services no end.
The Daily Mail are fortunate, because the majority of it's readers are your typical working class Tories who are too fucking stupid to see that immigrants are just a smokescreen to the fact that we are really being fucked over by those at the top.
Now all that said, there is an argument that cheap foreign labour fucks it up for your average working class man. But please, stop the bollocks about immigrants fucking the economy up, they don't. It's just that the likes of you and me don't get to directly reap the benefits of them.

It's a fucked law Ted, I was watching the news with this story one of the Syrians who arrived in Holland a few years ago was given a passport shortly after arriving so along with his wife who is also Syrian now without question him and his wife can live in Britain yet If someone actually born here wants to marry someone outside the EU it's made very difficult for them to do. Africans and South Asians are masters of manipulating the system. I can't blame them, I would not want to live in some war torn shithole

My daughter is getting married to an Australian yet I get the impression that if they ever wanted to come to the UK to live they have no chance since the Conservatives new visa laws 2012 !
Surely this is so wrong and only seems to affect Brits ! or have I read it wrong ?

You here some of the excuses like "we only had 2 sniffer dogs" Then fucking get more you cunts! The fact is they those in charge do fuck to solve this problem. Good mate of mine has had to jump through hoops to get his Korean wife a visa. A ex-mate of mine gets fake passports for tons of Bengali people or they just stay on past the student visas it's not like anyone actually checks. The thing you don't want is war torn people like Syrians living here however desperate they are. Syrian guy lived near me came here said he was gay then got a visa, he can't speak English has a wife and payed off the Taxi inspector to pass him, he now earns 50k or more a year from the taxi. I have a degree I earn far less, I'm a honest mug and honesty gets you know where in UK these days.

What gives you the impression that I don't welcome migrants? You made that up. I'm the son of one and am marrying another one soon. What I said was that I thought that it isn't practical to have an open door policy.
What number would you consider would be too much for a country of our size to accommodate?

You see 'a lot of families moving here, not single men' in your own experience.
I live next door to between 5-7 single immigrant taxi drivers (the numbers vary as they are shipped in and out). When newcomers arrive 2 well-dressed foreign gentlemen turn up with their laptops, doing their best to avoid being seen, for whatever reason.
They invite between 15-20 taxi drivers to eat there (muslims only) every night and the noise is so bad that the bloke sharing a party wall has had to put up soundproofing as they wake his kids up. He has complained to anyone and everyone and no-one gives a toss. He has not given up but is running out of places to go.
The grass is about 4-5 foot high and we have had to get people from the council to get them to remove rubbish from the front garden (12 x bin liners filled with festering food that the dustmen refused to take, a tall freezer and a 50" lcd tv) on numerous occasions. They come and go at all hours and stand outside the house smoking , shouting and spitting constantly. I've confronted them at 03:00, 04:00, 05:00 telling them to keep quiet but they go back to doing it again within a few days.
The house is rented to them by a Bangladeshi who, despite owning 2, if not 3, failed businesses, now lives in a 5 bedroom detached house in a better part of town. The previous occupants were fairly unknown as they turned up in the middle of the night with loads of boxes and produced one of the biggest cannabis farms in Kent before allowing the teenage Thai / Vietnamese kid to take the wrap.
This is one of two of these types of property on a very small estate. This is my experience and probably goes some way to explaining why I don't have such a cosy, family-friendly view of immigration. I dream of such a family moving in and would welcome such people, regardless of ethnic background etc.

I personally believe in a world without borders and by extension stand by my belief in my day to day life. I dont choose to position the needle of my moral compass in relation to whats I am told is right or possible but what I feel is right and could be possible.
Besides, im not sure that 100's of millions of people are trying to get here.

You mentioned it. no one else.
This is about people believing that because they are born on one bit of dirty it prevents other people from living there.
Its about believeing that because those people werent born there they arent entitled to a better life, even though that bit of dirt is one of the most wealthiest bit of dirt in the world.
What you should be focusing on his how lucky we are that most of our problems are fucking trivial and dont even rate on the scale of 'Life and death' and appreciate that and look to extend that to others...
But you carry on mate. You are a dying breed. Most people can see past the differences and are generous and giving enough to help others in need.

Hundreds of millions, perhaps even billions would probably prefer to live here than in their country of origin. Do you really think that they should all be accommodated here?
My view is that in an ideal world we wouldn't have borders, but in that world nobody would feel compelled to move away from their families and communities. We don't live in that world so I think that borders are essential given the inpractility of billions of people migrating.

I think our lax approach to immigration actively encourages the sort of humanitarian disasters we see in the med. and on these lorries. It is also a massive contributory factor in keeping poor countries poor as we drain their brightest and best.
